The founder of Don Lee Farms®, Donald, worked for his father’s storied food company, Larry’s Foods, in the 1970’s as the plant manager in Gardena, California. In 1982, he started his own food company, Don Lee Farms®, in a rented building in Marina Del Rey. In the mid-1980’s, the new company established its current headquarters in the Los Angeles area with a production facility and an additional warehouse facility nearby. The company built production lines, launched new products and developed what would become decades-long partnerships with school districts, club stores and the world’s biggest and most successful food brands. In the 2000’s, Donald’s sons, the third generation, joined. During that decade, the family business celebrated their 20th anniversary and launched first-to-market vegetarian and plant-based foods. In the 2010’s, Don Lee Farms® increased its national footprint with an additional production facility in the Dallas, Texas area, achieved Organic Certification and launched Organic Certified private-label and branded products in over 8,000 markets in 15 countries.
