MOBY IS HELPING FARM ANIMALS
According to Live Kindly, vegan musician Moby is selling his New York midcentury modern home and donating a portion of the proceeds to his animal rights foundation, amongst other causes. The 3,162 square foot two bedroom house, on Salem Road in Pound Ridge, New York, is priced at $1,300,000 and described on Trulia as the “quintessential country getaway.”
“Ok, this might seem odd…I have a beautiful house in Pound Ridge, NY,” the singer wrote on Instagram. “It was designed in 1957 by David Henken, an architect who worked closely with Frank Lloyd Wright. It’s one of the most beautiful mcm houses I’ve seen, but to be honest, I’m rarely there.
”He continued, “I’m going to sell it and take the money [to] support progressive political candidates, support my animal rights foundation, produce documentaries, and fund scholarships.”
But the singer doesn’t just donate money to animal rights causes, he also speaks up for them. In June, he gave his first ever TEDx talk, titled “Why I’m a Vegan.” “Every animal, no matter how big or how small or how wild or how domesticated, wants to be alive and simply wants to be happy,” he said.
Page six revealed that These days, the 52-year-old recording artist is nearly as well known for his activism as his music. He opened an upscale vegan restaurant in Los Angeles that donates all of its proceeds to animal rights causes. Moby has only owned the Pound Ridge home since March, when he closed on the two-acre property for $1.24 million, according to property records. He listed the home last Tuesday with Muffin Dowdle of Ginnel Real Estate. The property is located in an affluent town in Westchester County about 90 minutes outside of New York City.
ABOUT MOBY’S HOUSE
Home statosphere noted that, Moby’s Red Oak Manor sits in the Oaks neighborhood in Los Feliz and encompasses 4,464 square foot of property. The English Traditional home was built in 1926 but has since been renovated although still keeping the original features such as groin vault ceilings and fireplace surrounds. The two-story Tudor residence has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Moby purchased the property for $3.4 million in 2016. He also owns the house next door.
We love his music, love him for his animal liberation fight.
Love him for being vegan and consuming vegan products.
Bar Boulevard arose from a friendship between two like-minded vegans with a passion for sharing plant-based food. Darren Picone partnered with a local vegan chef, known on Instagram as Steven the Vegan, to bring the concept to life. The pair met when they worked at Vegan Meals by Mindy, a Las Vegas-based vegan ready meal company. Steven the Vegan also operates a plant-based catering service, Human(e) Food 702.
Vegans Baby noted some citation of the Angel “From there a friendship blossomed and the concept evolved,” explains Angel Alonzo, creative director and kitchen manager for Bar Boulevard. “We are a small unconventional family that simply wants to bring life and color to the neighborhood and make a change in the world.”The opening of the restaurant fills a gap in the vegan dining scene, offering up a pure vegan bar with a vegan chef at its helm.
Eater las vegas explain that Expanding the current trend of vegan restaurants headed to the valley, newcomer Bar Boulevard will also be adding a plant-based cocktail bar experience to the mix. Located at 3315 Russell Road, the bar will take over the easy-to-spot corner building at the Pecos Plaza retail center, at the intersection of Russell and Pecos Roads. The 2,415-square-foot corner space, featuring a prominent raised roof, will take advantage of an existing dog-friendly patio area on two sides of the restaurant. It joins fellow plaza dining neighbors La Papaya Deli and Hometown Eats. Executive chef Steveo Vegano is overseeing the kitchen, that so far has previewed pad Thai noodles among its 100 percent vegan menu.
